John Wesley Dow, son of John Ware Dow, presented pulpit to the Manset Union Church in 1881. Folders of David King (47 pieces), Benjamin Ward (27 pieces), William Ward (83 pieces), and John K. Ames, on Machias lumber shipping in the 1880s (164 pieces) are mostly receipts for ship supplies and food. An "Other" folder contains (79 pieces) a mix of published material. The S. Leslie King folder (51 pieces) contains mostly information on Mr. King, stamped envelopes, Report of the Commissioners of the Northeast Boundary Dispute of 1843 (pages 7 to end page 88); Plymouth Pulpit sermons by Henry Ward Beecher, Mar. 7, 1883; Presumptive Arguments in Favor of Unitarianism; and S. Leslie King's My Electricity Notebook from Gorham State Teachers College, 1951-52. A number of old newspapers and magazines (in Box 20) and separately cataloged items were part of this gift, see numbers 2262, 2263, 2264, 2265, 22662427, 2428, 2429.
