White three ring binder of information on Beech Hill Methodist Episcopal Church and Manset Union Church, especially during the ministry of John Ware Dow (born 1799), Great Great Grandfather of the author, Dean Purdie. Served MDI 1837-38. Includes several photocopied pages from Thornton, Traditions and Records of Southwest Harbor and Somesville, 1938. John Wesley Dow, son of John Ware Dow, presented pulpit to the Manset Union Church in 1881. Binder includes copy of application for that church for the National Register of Historic Places (not accepted), Text and portraits from This and That by Irene Dow Purdie, Fairbault MN, Modern Printers, 1981, and genealogical Information from Ruth Dow, of Nobleboro ME. Also photos of author and Manset Union Church. 17 pages.
